It all started around 2007 when I was still a full time stone mason. I worked out in the cold a lot, and when I wasn’t working I was hiking and exploring. All I wanted was a quality hat that would keep me cozy and would stand up to the frigid temperatures of an Ontario winter.
I looked and looked but couldn’t find this hat anywhere. Having a love for art and creating, I decided to learn to make it myself. I wore my handmade hat around my beloved little home town Ridgeway, and people began asking if I could make them one too. I started taking orders which escalated to small scale events. From there I got into Etsy handmade markets, festivals and even got invited to attend an ECO market!
Now I won’t lie, there was a lot of trial and error figuring out what people loved. Finding the best quality yarn that was warm and cozy, had some stretch but not too much, and of course ... in lots of gorgeous colours! 
I wanted my labels to be natural and sustainable that caused no harm to animals, trees, and our planet. Once I finally found them, my sister and I came up with a logo that we felt best represented my dream and purpose for my hats.

Pom poms were the next hurdle... I was lucky enough to find a wonderful woman who makes each pom pom by hand, quality checking each one for longevity. What I have ended up with are beautiful handmade hats that are made with lots of love. 
Just over a year ago I decided to live out one of my dreams. I packed up my little business, dog, two cats and whatever yarn and belongings I could fit in my truck and started to drive west across Canada. I had nowhere to live, no job lined up and yet I had never felt more free. Just me and my animals exploring the coastal shores and forests and gathering inspiration wherever I could.
Now here we are, almost three years later with my little business here on beautiful Vancouver Island.
